I’d be surprised by now if you didn’t know what Netflix was. I’d be less surprised if you didn’t know what the Netflix Book Tag was. If you have read any of my book tags before (read my This or That book tag here) then you will sort know how this goes. Below will be some questions and I will answer them. Afterward I will tag someone else to take part.
I actually found this book tag on Anjali’s blog, This Splendid Shambles Blog but it was actually created by A Darker Shade of Whitney. Check them both out, I am sure you will love them! Now onto the tag!
Netflix Book Tag Questions
1: Recently Watched, The Last Book You Finished Reading
Technically I just finished reading a book that isn’t out yet. But, the one before that would Rainbow by Verde Arzu (review coming out very very soon!). Hint: I gave it 4 stars out of 5.
2. Top Picks: A book/books that have been recommended to you based on book you have previously read
I don’t have an answer for this one because I have never asked before… I guess I have never really thought about asking until now.
3: Recently Added, The Last Book You Bought
The last book I bought was the Jungle Book. I saw it when I was supposed to be grocery shopping and I had to have it! I am a huge disney fan and only a couple days before I bought it I re-watched the movie so it felt like I had no choice but to get the book. It felt like a real bear necessities moment for me.
4. Popular on Netflix: Books that everyone knows about. (2 you’ve read and 2 you haven’t read or have no interest in reading)
Two books I have read that everyone knows about are The Handmaid’s Tale and The Witcher: Blood of Elves. I originally read the Handmaid’s Tale as a project while I was in school. I fell in love with it and dystopian novels so I am forever grateful that I had to read it!
By now, The Witcher has become a popular topic. I have read only one of the books in the series so far but I own them all and I can’t wait to read the rest. You can read my review of Blood of Elves here.
Two books I haven’t read that I know everyone knows about are the Stephen King novels and the Harry Potter Series. I actually own most of the Harry Potter books and I do intend on reading them at some point. I just didn’t get into them when they originally came out. I tried and I thought they were boring. I was young though so I want to give them another shot.
I don’t own any Stephen King novels but I’m sure I will one day. I never had an interest in them but that is because I hadn’t read any thrillers or “scary books” for a very long time. Now that I have I may give his books a go.
5. Comedies: A funny book
Honestly, I don’t have an answer for this question. I’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments below!
6: Dramas, A Character who is a Drama Queen/King
Have you ever read the Crucible? If you haven’t and you love witch stories or stories that include Salem, Massachusetts, then this is the book for you. I remember when I read it I thought Abigail Williams was the definition of a drama queen.
7. Animated: A book with cartoons on the cover
I haven’t read a book with cartoons on the cover in a very long time. But, a set of books that I liked as a kid were all the Berenstain Bears. You know what’s funny about this though? I always thought it was spelled Berenstein Bears, but I guess I was wrong. Oh well!
8: Watch it Again, A Book/Book Series That You Want to Want to Re-Read
I’m pretty sure I have mentioned this book before but I can’t remember so i will mention it again. One book that I have re-read before and that I would re-read again is a book called Out of the Dust. I don’t know why but it’s just one of those books that I absolutely love!
9: Documentaries, A Non-Fiction Book You’d Recommend to Everyone
Ooh what good timing! I recently read a non-fiction book that I did like a lot and that I would recommend to you. In fact, this particular book was part of a blog tour that I did. The book is called The Recovery Toolkit. Check out my review to learn more about it.
10: Action and Adventure, An Action Packed Book
The first one I thought of was a book called The Phoenix of Fyre. I read that one a little while ago (read my review of The Phoenix of Fyre). There was a TON of action in that book and well worth the read.
11: New Releases, A Book That Just Came Out or Will be Coming Out Soon That You Can’t Wait To Read
Easy day! There is a book coming out that is for all the historical fiction lovers out there. That includes me. It is called The Stars of Heaven. You can pre-order it right now or just wait to get it when it comes out in a couple of days. The release date is August 18th so luckily you won’t have to wait that long!
12: Max, Tag Some People
I really enjoyed this tag and I actually have a few people in mind this time around that I could tag. Of course, if you see this and you want to do it too, I say go for it. For right now, I tag the Dark and Divine Book Blog and the Quirky Book Reads Book Blog. Their are now a slew of blogs that I would love to tag for the Netflix book tag, but I’m going to compose myself and stick to these two! Give them some love and go check out their blogs!
Let’s Talk About It!
Alright, that was fun wasn’t it? You know my answers but I want to know yours. What is one book you would recommend to me based on The Handmaid’s Tale. I love dystopian novels so give me your best answer!
