The TBR Book Tag

The TBR Book Tag

How many books are on your TBR list? Have you ever heard of the TBR Book Tag? I’m willing to bet that for many of you the list is too long to say. Am I right? Well, it is for me. I have the list actually typed out in my notes on my phone. Eventually, I want to move the list completely over to my Goodreads account (friend me on Goodreads). However, until that day happens the list will remain in my notes.

Anywho, I found this book tag that is absolutely amazing. If you are a bookworm I know you will be able to relate!

How Does This Book Tag Work?

I found this book tag on Pinterest. Thank you Book Twins Reviews for letting me find this (check out their post here). If you hadn’t pinned it I wouldn’t have found it.

This one is pretty straightforward(aren’t all book tags?). There are 12 questions/statements, and all I have to do is give my answer to them.

The evil thing about this TBR book tag is I know that doing this tag is going to lead to you adding more books to your TBR list. But I don’t feel bad! The more books the better right? Let’s get started!

HOW DO YOU KEEP TRACK OF YOUR TBR LIST?

Well I kind of accidentally told you this one. I keep a list on notes on my phone. Every time I get a book recommendation or I see a book I’d like to read, I enter it into my phone. Eventually I’d like to add the list to my Goodreads account as that just makes the most sense to me.

IS YOUR TBR MOSTLY PRINT OR E-BOOK?

Print if I can help it (check out the “This or That” book tag where I answered a question similar to this one among others). I prefer print books to E-books but if the book is only available via E-book then I will still read it.

To be honest, I don’t look at what format the book can be bought in until I am able to read it. Luckily, most of them are available in print format.

HOW DO YOU DETERMINE WHICH BOOK FROM YOUR TBR TO READ NEXT?

I do one of two things. The first option I will do is read them in the order I put the books on my list. The second option to pick a book based on the type of book I feel like reading at the time. For example, if I feel like reading a fantasy book, I will look to see what fantasy books are in my TBR list.

One fun way to do it that I haven’t tried yet is where I would just randomly pick a book from the list. One day I might try to do it that way.

A BOOK THAT HAS BEEN ON YOUR TBR THE LONGEST.

A book called A Sunburned Country. To be honest, I don’t even remember putting this on my TBR list. That’s how long it’s been on there. I laughed when I realized I didn’t remember putting this on my list. What’s awful is that as a book blogger I constantly put my TBR list on the back burner so that I can be a part of book tours and reading books from authors that send book review requests.

Eventually I plan on reading this book and the many more that are on my seemingly endless TBR list.

A BOOK THAT YOU RECENTLY ADDED TO YOUR TBR LIST?

The most recent book that I have added to my TBR is Red, White, and Royal Blue. Which, if I remember correctly was a book that was recommended to me on Instagram.

A BOOK ON YOUR TBR LIST STRICTLY BECAUSE OF ITS BEAUTIFUL COVER.

I loved this book cover because the cover makes me super curious, it is pretty to me, and the title sounds awesome.

Everything about this cover and book makes me curious and I can’t wait to read it. The plane, the winter, the beautiful woman looking like she’s trying to leave. Everything incites curiosity.

I don’t think I will be disappointed either because it currently has over 6,000 reviews and a 4.7/5 star rating. It’s safe to assume that this book will be good.

A BOOK ON YOUR TBR THAT YOU NEVER PLAN ON ACTUALLY READING.

Oooh, what a horrible thing to say! I don’t have an answer for this one because I only put books on my TBR list if someone who loved the book recommends it or if I find it on my own and it sounds/looks good. Eventually, I will give every book on my TBR a try. I can’t promise finishing them all but I will attempt to read them.

AN UNPUBLISHED BOOK ON YOUR TBR THAT YOU’RE EXCITED FOR.

The 9th Outlander book. I haven’t even read through the whole series yet but I just feel like I need it. Does that make sense? I hope it does.

A BOOK ON YOUR TBR THAT BASICALLY EVERYONE HAS READ BUT YOU.

I have some of Christina Henry’s books on my TBR list. I know quite a few people that have read her books. She writes readaptations of what many people have seen of the Disney movies. They aren’t Disney’s stories as Disney’s movies are actually readaptations themselves. But, when I look at Christina Henry’s books, I think of Disney.

Regardless, her books are of interest to me and many people have said great things about her work. One day I will have something to say about them as well!

A BOOK ON YOUR TBR EVERYONE RECOMMENDS YOU.

Caraval was one that many people recommended to me so hopefully, I will be able to read it soon. I have so many books that I must get through first though.

I love the cover and the summary is really good too.

A BOOK ON YOUR TBR YOU’RE VERY EXCITED TO READ.

Definitely the Kate Quinn Novel and any of Christina Henry’s books. Those two authors are the ones that I want to read the most right now.

THE NUMBER OF BOOKS ON YOUR GOODREADS TBR SHELF.

Only 7 currently. As I said, it needs updating for sure. Maybe in the next month or so I will be able to take a day and just update the heck out of it. Don’t quote me on that though! Although, I have to admit it would be funny to hear from one of you guys calling me out on not updating it. Man this TBR book tag is really making me realize how much more I have to read!

  1. It’s fun to see there is so much variety in how people approach their TBRs. Mine is on a Google spreadsheet where I capture when I acquired it , from where (if I remember) and when I read it. But my list is only the books I already have. Anything that takes my fancy for the future goes into a wishlist.
